PaddleFit!

Let me paint a picture for you

…with my words.

The fluorescent lights shutter overhead, stinging your eyes. The sounds of groans echo throughout the cavernous room. The air is musty, dirty and smells of sweat. Everything is black, rubber and metal and everyone is constantly sizing themselves up…for what, you have no idea.

But there y
ou are in the corner, trying to not make eye contact with anyone as you mercilessly lift a dumbbell over and over again. The metal on skin hurts your hands and they start to throb. You take a long look into the over-sized mirror and ask yourself, “Why am I here?”

But where are you exactly?

Prison?

Sounds like it, but no.

You’re in a gym.

I’m sure you’ve heard of these places before, most likely almost all of your friends have talked about one –  around January 1st.

They’ve probably said something like, “This year, I’m doing it! I’m getting in shape!”

How many times has that happened? Not many, I would guess. But why? We all know that working out is good for us. It goes without saying. It’s like having someone recommend drinking water because it’s good for us. So what’s the reason?

Most people believe it’s because they’re not dedicated enough or they don’t have enough fortitude. And that might be so.

But let me propose another, not oft talked about reason. Maybe, just maybe, people stop going to the gym because going to a gym sucks.

Not that the workout sucks. Or the feeling afterwards sucks. But simply being stuck inside a gym does.

How many people out there actually like the sounds, sights, and smells of a gym? I would say… not too many people. Except maybe those guys that enjoy the over-sized mirrors. Yeah, you know, the guys who work their eye muscles looking themselves up and down. We’ll make an exception for those guys. But anyway…

It’s no wonder you never want to go back.

On the other hand, how many people like being outside, next to the water? – Imagine feeling the fresh sunlight crack through the clouds on your face, breathing in the swirling outside air, and the sensations of bare-feet on grass as you get a great workout in.

If that sounds a trillion times better, (yes, a trillion)  then paddlefit is definitely for you!

The classes consist of a workout on land, usually involving sand bags, pull up bars, and even your paddle, (they vary everyday) followed by sprints on the paddle board. And if you’re new to paddle boarding, no worries, our instructors will give a lesson on how to hold your paddle, technique, and how to stand up. You will be completely comfortable on the paddle board by the end of the lesson. And you’ll have breathed fresh air while doing a great workout! Imagine that! Air!

So if you’d like to take a step outside, join us!
